Construction commences
Yes today the concrete floor gets poured for the subterranean block which will be 2 bedrooms, bathroom and plant room. 4 lorries of ready mix (40 tons) and a concrete pump.

Look no wires...
All gone underground and at a cost... that view is literally worth thousands. Notice the big mound of earth and the big hole that it came from... rain stopped play today but will finish leveling the foundations out on Monday.

The big dig... commences
To create the subterranean part of the extension the ground needs to be dug to a depth of 4 meters, which means removing over 500 ton of soil... down to over 2 meters today...

Gretal arrives
Our new Gypsy Caravan arrived but due to its size had to be unloaded in Abbey Terrace car park in Winchcombe... and our neighbour Duncan came to the rescue lending his tractor to tow it down Vineyard Street to Lane's Cottage .... thanks goes to Marc from Fernhills and all of the Coombs team on site especially Andrew, our site manager, who bravely drove the tractor. It took time but from arriving at 7am it was finally in situ at 1pm... every picture tells a story....
